Frankmusik – LIVE in Norwich HMV

Posted by: noodlenews on: August 6, 2009

I don’t really know where to start with my round-up of what I saw yesterday – partly because the first time I listened to a Frankmusik track was at about 10pm on Tuesday night… mainly because I had seen a review of Confusion Girl on the Radio 1 Chartblog a few hours previously.

So, it was kinda strange when I popped into HMV Norwich at 5pm yesterday to find Frankmusik appear in the corner of the store and perform 4 tracks to a group of about 50 or 60 people. Armed with just a keyboard, microphone and a couple of speakers (as well as an all important sound man) he performed 3 stripped down versions of tracks from the debut album Complete Me (which was released on Monday) as well as a Pet Shop Boys cover track.

All tracks were performed brilliantly, really showing off the man’s talent and brilliant voice. So much so in fact, that even my Mum remarked on how talented he was! Everyone watching seemed thoroughly impressed, and I was so much so that I then bought the CD and got it signed (as well as having a quick picture done too!)

Here’s a video from YouTube which somebody recorded in the Liverpool HMV. The performance he gave there was very similar to the one in Norwich:

Frankmusik performed:

  • 3 Little Words
  • Confusion Girl
  • It’s A Sin [Pet Shop Boys cover]
  • Better Off As 2

I’ll be reviewing the album tomorrow sometime. From what I’ve heard so far – it is WELL worth a purchase!
